Gary Cook

A Managing Director of Cook & Company, Gary focuses on strategic planning and execution, executive coaching and development of CEOs and senior leadership teams, and in creating organizational effectiveness around strategic objectives. The basis of his approach is the use of a trademarked concept called Leading at the Inflection Point, which focuses on the key career-influencing events and behaviors in the lives of organizations, teams and individuals, and how to better manage them.

He has held ownership and/or CEO/COO positions in a wide variety of industry settings including high technology, agricultural chemical, energy, mineral exploration, process engineering, finance, education, training and consulting fields. Gary has provided coaching, executive development, and management advice in an even wider range of sectors, including education and training, biotechnology, finance, insurance, manufacturing, and printing.

A former McKinsey consultant, Gary graduated from Wesleyan University and the Harvard University Law School. He was Deputy Assistant Secretary at both the US Department of Commerce and the former U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare, and served as Vice-Chair of the OECD Industry Committee.

He is President of Vineyard Enterprises, LLC, a Director of the Social Science Foundation at the Graduate School of International Studies (University of Denver), a Director of the Education Credit Management Corporation, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
